I totally LOVE being home in summer. I have a wonderful yard with a covered porch where my husband and I have coffee and read the paper each morning....we have a large pool where we can cool off...there is a swing on my patio that is espically enjoyed by my grandchildren in summer as well as winter...I don't have to go far, there is no expense getting there, and it is always open. Come on over and enjoy it with me!

I love going to the drive in!! Grab an Eegee on the way and some lawn chairs! The air starts cooling down right about the time the movies start! Its perfect!!

Tranquility & Quality Time + Rancho Sahuarita Clubhouse

To spend time at home with my two sons playing with them whether it is games, reading books, cooking together, watching movies, tickling each other, telling stories...summer time with my 3 and 5 year old sons at home is budget minded, healthy and we build nice memories together. When out and about is needed, a visit to the swimming pool is done at sunset time to the early evening at the Rancho Sahuarita clubhouse. That place is an oasis in the desert.

I have off every Tuesday and Wednesday and every chance we get we head up the mountain to the Cookie Cabin They have the best root beer float! We sit outside and enjoy the cool weather.

Girlfriend Get Away

A few of us girls get togither and rent a room at Ventana Canyon for the weekend. Summer prices are cheaper and we bring snacks to munch on. veggies, crackers cheese and the blender! Swimming till the pool closes, hiking in the morning, lots of things to do. Its a great escape from the kids and guys for the weekend and not a lot of $$.

Last summer Sauce had a special which included 1 pizza 1 large salad to split and 2 glasses of wine for $20.00. We would go there in the evening when the sun went down and relax and enjoy ourselves. Usually Friday night after a week of work It was fun delicious and inexpensive. After dinner we would go next door and enjoy a cool and creamy cup of gelato from Frost.

Driving up to Mt. Lemmon for a ride on the ski lift. Walking around Rose Canyon maybe fish a little. I love to then have a picnic lunch or early dinner. It is so much cooler up there, it just feels so good.

Take me away mist

Sometimes you can't avoid the heat - especially with small budgets. So take that old atomizer, or a spray bottle with a really fine mist, and create your own special mist. Fill with cold water and add your favorite scent (pineapple, almond, forest lily, lavendar, etc) - I spray it into the bottle of water a few times depending on size. Turn on a fan, spritz into the air and enjoy the lightly scented mist as often as you want. Feel cool, feel refreshed, and relax.

My husband & I love to sneak away for a weekend getaway to the JW Marriott Starr Pass - BEAUTIFUL location makes us feel like we are actually on vacation without leaving town. They have a wonderful pool and "lazy river" which we can cool off in and an absolutely beautiful patio to have some drinks on when the sun is setting....plus great music! For those of living on the far east side of Tucson it's a great place to unwind and cool down!

Nothing more relaxing and enjoying than a trip and overnight stay at the Historical Hassyampa Inn and round of golf at the beautiful Antelop Golf Course. The Inn is absolutely beautiful and romantic and serves wonderful delicious meals. We need a getaway desperately and would love to return there soon.
