Meet Joyce Sanford this week's Ben's Bells Bellee!

Joyce was Nominated by Marianne Mitchell

Joyce was nominated by Marianne Mitchell for her tireless dedication and generosity!Joyce Sanford is the founder of Southern Arizona Golden Retriever Rescue (SAGRR), which serves an area covering Yuma, Tucson, Douglas and places in between. Marianne knows Joyce because she volunteers with the organization, which has 350 members.

Joyce is tireless in rescuing goldens and finding them new homes. This involves endless fundraising with events such as weekly meet and greets, Christmas gift-wrap at Barnes and Noble, calendar sales, garage sales and an annual golf tournament. She inspires her army of volunteers and seeks help wherever possible so the dogs get the care and placement needed for a better life. In seven years, SAGRR has rescued over 250 goldens. If there is any hope of saving them, Joyce will make it possible even if it involves huge veterinary bills. She always finds a way to raise the money needed for rehoming these dogs. Even after adoption, Joyce arranges training for the dogs, snake avoidance classes, and social events for their owners. Hundreds of Southern Arizona families now enjoy a happier life because they have adopted a golden retriever through SAGRR and because of the work of Joyce Sanford.

If you know someone who spreads kindness within the Greater Tucson or Phoenix community, nominate them for a Ben's Bell! bensbells.org/kindness-education [bensbells.org].
