As one-half of Florida Georgia Line, Tyler Hubbard has spent the better part of the past decade cranking out chart-topping country hits, with songs like “Cruise” and “Meant to Be” (featuring Bebe Rexha) forever shifting the genre’s sonic landscape. Dancin’ in the Country marks Hubbard’s first solo outing and shows him to be just as formidable an artist on his own. “5 Foot 9” sweetly catalogs the good things in life, like “kickin’ up dust in a taillight glow” and a “small-town accent.” “Everybody Needs a Bar” is a soulful, swaggering ode to local watering holes, with one of Hubbard’s more dynamic vocals.
