For Record Store Day’s 2025 Black Friday event, Marcus King dropped No Room for Blue, a special vinyl companion to The Marcus King Band’s fourth album, Darling Blue, released earlier the same year. Now fans can enjoy those bonus tracks digitally, packaged alongside Darling Blue for the first time. Named for a Darling Blue track, No Room for Blue expands upon the genre-blurring blues-rock tunes King first devised with producer Eddie Spear, reimagining some tracks like the “Nashville version” of “Dirt”—which, here, gets the “Macon” treatment—and adding covers, like King’s more-than-capable take on the Allman Brothers Band classic “Ramblin’ Man.” King’s masterful guitar playing ties the entire sprawling, ambitious package together, with his axe functioning like an additional vocalist thanks to his creative phrasing, nuanced dynamics, and unparalleled tone.
